This project is funded through the Fifth RTD Framework Program of the European Union and is focused on the temporary use of undeveloped spaces in major European cities. The temporary and semiformal use of central residual space is often the starting point for strengthening the local economy and new services and for enhancing the social and cultural sphere. Working with partners in five European cities, the interdisciplinary project group is studying present strategies for the temporary use of such space, articulating new strategies, and integrating them into methods of modern city management.
One of the tasks in this project is to create an Internet-based communications platform that not only facilitates communication between all locally involved actors and between the members of the research team but also makes results publicly accessible.
