Perspectives for young people to stay
Migration out of Eastern Germany is a threat to economic development.
Previous studies by Christiane Dienel (www.menschen-fuer-sachsen-anhalt.de) have shown that local engagement and concrete projects might reenforce pull-factors of the home region. The evaluation of youth projects of the "Stiftung demokratische Jugend" has as objective to find out wether participation in local history projects changes young people's attitudes towards the decision to stay or to leave.
