Qualitätssicherung nicht numerischer Informationen
Approaches for the Quality Control of Non-numerical Information as Part of Knowledge Management
On behalf of DaimlerChrysler AG, nexus researched the literature on quality control of non-numerical information and developed a corresponding research concept. The analytical part of the project addressed the question of what resources, processes and structures can be used to ensure the quality of non-numerical information entailed by knowledge management. The study of the literature focused on business administration and qualitative social research, but it also drew on psycholocial and historical work as well as studies from the field of knowledge management, which is emerging as a seperate discipline.
In the pratical part of the study, ideas for identifying quality and improving quality control were found in qualitive social research and work in the field of business management.
Discourse on ways to solve the problem of non-numerical information is being pursued in a variety of arenas, including management theory, the social sciences, computer science, heuristics, the historical sciences and library science. However, the scholars involved seem unaware of discussion in any field other than their own. The objective of the nexus project was therefore to point out interlinkages and various lines of tradition.
