Six rural Leader+-regions in Brandenburg (Schraden (coordinator), Fläming-Havel, Märkische Schweiz, Strittmatter Land, Wald- und Heideland, Westhavelland) jointly have asked nexus and the Center for Technology and Society of the Berlin University of Technology to develop concepts and pilot projects for sustainable public transport in rural Brandenburg. The project is funded by the Ministry of Infrastructure of Brandenburg. The project is a follow up of the successful research consortium IMPULS 2005 (funded by the German Ministry of Research and Education), in which nexus and TU Berlin have developed call buses and citizen buses (with citizen volunteers driving small buses) from 2000 to 2004.
